The Helmetta Municipal Court is located at 60 Main Street, Helmetta, N.J. 08828. The telephone number for the court and its administrator, Danielle Tanzi, is 732-521-4946. Court proceedings are conducted once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. The judge that sits in Helmetta is Honorable Edward H. Herman. The municipal court has jurisdiction to decide three types of violations arising within the boundaries of its .90 square feet. The court may decide misdemeanor criminal charges, traffic summonses, and municipal ordinance offenses. There is no authority to deal with indictable crimes of the first degree, second degree, third degree or fourth degree like burglary, criminal sexual contact, possession of cocaine or distribution of marijuana. The Middlesex County Superior Court has responsibility to adjudicate matters falling within these grades of offense.

Directions to Helmetta Municipal Court
From Interstate 95/NJ Turnpike. Take Exit 8A and merge onto Forsgate Drive. Turn left onto Half Acre Road and then quickly left onto Gatzmer Avenue. Make a right on Lincoln Avenue. Turn left on Helmetta Road in .4 miles. The roadway will merge into Main Street where the municipal court is located.
From New Jersey Route 18. Exit on Old Bridge Turnpike and turn right in .1 miles on Main Street. The roadway will transition into Manalapan Road and in 1.5 miles back into Main Street. The court will be to your left in .2 miles.
From New Jersey Route 33. Exit roadway at Perrineville Road. You will need to bear left onto Gatzmer in approximately 6 miles. Turn right onto Lincoln Avenue in one-half mile and left on Helmetta Road in .4 miles. Proceed for .8 miles to Main Street. Helmetta Municipal Court will be to your right.
