Andrew Carey

Andrew Carey brings exceptional Middlesex County and federal criminal law experience to the defense of clients facing serious charges. He is a former New York, New Jersey, and federal prosecutor who has

handled matters ranging from drug possession and homicide to organized crime, national security, and complex criminal investigations.

Mr. Carey served as Middlesex County Prosecutor, acting as the county’s chief law enforcement officer with authority over approximately 2,000 sworn officers and responsibility for criminal matters in Middlesex County Superior and Family Courts. He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of New Jersey, where his roles included Counsel to multiple U.S. Attorneys, Deputy U.S. Attorney, Attorney-in-Charge in Camden, and Chief of the Narcotics/Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

For Middlesex County clients, Mr. Carey’s background is uniquely powerful. He understands the county prosecutor’s office, law enforcement structure, Superior Court practice, Family Court-related criminal issues, and the strategic decisions that shape major investigations. He now uses that insight to defend clients accused of serious criminal charges, drug offenses, weapons matters, violent crimes, restraining order violations, federal crimes, and complex allegations requiring high-level courtroom judgment.
