Thomas D. Carver offers clients the benefit of extensive criminal law experience and a particularly strong Middlesex County background. After beginning his career with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in the Organized Crime Division, he later served for 19 years with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, primarily in the Domestic Violence and Sex Crimes Unit, before retiring in 2025.
During his prosecutorial career, Mr. Carver handled serious criminal matters involving assault, robbery, homicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, and other high-stakes allegations. That experience gives him a detailed understanding of how sensitive and complex cases are investigated, how prosecutors prepare witnesses, how evidence is presented, and where the defense can challenge the State’s case.
Today, Mr. Carver uses his Middlesex County prosecutorial experience to defend clients facing serious criminal charges, domestic violence allegations, restraining order issues, sex crimes, assault, theft, shoplifting, and municipal court offenses. His recent experience includes favorable outcomes in Middlesex County-related municipal matters, including Edison and Matawan cases. For clients charged in New Brunswick or local Middlesex courts, he brings county-specific insight and strategic courtroom judgment.
